Islam >> The Holy Quran
Maulana Abul Kalam Azad in his Monumental commentary on Holy Quran (Tarjumanul Quran emphasizes the doctrine of Rububiyah enshrined in the Holy Quran as the quintessence of Islam in its universal appeal and validity. This doctrine entails the recognition of God as Rabbul Alameen (Lord of all being; author of all existence, circumscribing all creation) The word Rabb in the Arabic language implies the role of 'the cherisher', 'the Nourisher', 'the Sustainer', 'the Provider' for all his creation. Azad concludes that universal humanism is the essence of the Quranic message.
